Pilgrimage into the Last Third of Life: 7 Gateways to Spiritual Growth

On October 12 from 9:30 to 3:00, the Rev. Bob Meyer, will lead a program based on the book, “Pilgrimage into the Last Third of Life: 7 Gateways to Spiritual Growth” by Jane Marie Thibault and Richard L. Morgan. The program will be held at Lewis Center United Methodist Church, 1081 Lewis Center Road.

The big question some people ask: How to spend well the last third of life? All of life has its moments, but this last third of life offers significant challenges that can best be approached as “a pilgrimage”. The program will explore topics such as:

                ― Facing Aging & Dying                                                 ― Prayer & Contemplation

― Living with Limitations                                              ― Redeeming Loss & Suffering

― Doing Inner Work                                                       ― Leaving a Legacy

― Living In & Out of Community

Rev. Meyer uses scripture-based meditations and reflections to explore these topics. According to the authors of the book, “The seven gateways guide us to a deeper appreciation of the spiritual opportunities we might otherwise miss on this remarkable, last and most important journey of our lives”. This program is appropriate for “the hail and the frail ― whatever their age.”

Lunch will be provided and all are welcome. Please contact the LCUMC church office at 740-548-5549 to reserve your space. Deadline to register is October 8.
