Christmas Day!
Isaiah 9:2-3, 6-7
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a land of deep darkness on them light has shined.
You have multiplied the nation, you have increased its joy; they rejoice before you as with joy at the harvest, as people exult when dividing plunder.
For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
His authority shall grow continually, and there shall be endless peace for the throne of David and his kingdom. He will establish and uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time onward and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.

There are still so many people who walk in a joyless darkness.  This Christmas Eve, there will be no angels visibly and audibly singing of God’s love for us or of God’s great desire for us to live in light, peace, and joy.
God calls us to live lives of light, peace, and joy that those without hope may see it is possible.
God calls us to spread the word of the angels, “Do not be afraid!” to a fearful world.
God calls us to bring the good news of God’s great love for US – ALL OF US, to those who have given up on love!
God of Love and Light, help us to sing the song of the angels this Christmas with our words and our actions!  Amen.
