On Sunday, April 10, St. Luke's confirmed 16 middle school students. It was a glorious celebration. Even more, each one individually and personally prayed a prayer of faith committing themselves to love God. You can imagine what a big day this is for St. Luke's, but even more, what a big day this is for the kids, and for God's kingdom on earth.
More good news. After a year of prayer, conversation, and preparation, St. Luke's is scheduled to vote on becoming a Reconciling Congregation. The vote will take place on April 24.
St. Luke's is partnering with Trinity UMC to reach out into our neighborhood. Taproom Theology is going well and it's just one start towards more church partnerships.
More joyful news: Average worship attendance is at 100 - the highest average worship in 16 years - and St. Luke's is paying our apportionments every month.
We are also getting ready for Summer 2 Serve (S2S) which reaches many people in our neighborhood who are not involved in a faith community.
Finally, we had a mission team over spring break that traveled to NYC. Some of the kids on the NYC team will be leaders in our Summer2Serve ministry.
