The United Methodist Women of West Ohio will hold their Annual Celebration at The Avenue at Ginghamsburg UMC in Tipp City, OH, on Saturday, October 26, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The theme will be "At the Intersection of Faith and Economic Equality," with Carol Barton, UMW Executive for Community Action, as the keynote speaker. Cost is $15 and includes lunch. Next year, Bishop Palmer and Cynthia will lead the Alpine Odyssey, a nine-day European adventure to see the Oberammergau Passion Play, from July 27-August 4, 2020. Since 1634, the most famous Passion Play in the world has taken place in Oberammergau once every 10 years. Other stops on the adventure will include Munich, Innsbruck, Salzburg, and more. Thanks in large part to the leadership of United Methodist Missionary Lorraine Charinda, the Kamisamba Farm in the DR Congo was able to produce enough corn and vegetables to supply the Annual Conference session of the North Katanga Episcopal Area - about 900 people! One hundred volunteers gathered at Westwood United Methodist Church on a warm August afternoon to build Cincinnati’s Longest Ice Cream Sundae with ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, cherries and sprinkles.
